Prof.&SMIEEE, Pengcheng Liu

Bio of the presenter: Dr. Liu is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of York, UK. Before joining York, I have held several academic positions including a Senior Lecturer at Cardiff School of Technologies, Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK, a joint Research Fellowship at Lincoln Centre for Autonomous Systems (LCAS) and Lincoln Institute of Agri-Food Technology (LIAT), University of Lincoln, UK, a Research Assistant and a Teaching Assistant at Bournemouth University, UK, and a Lectureship at Zhongyuan University of Technology, China. I also held academic positions as a Visiting Fellow at Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.

He is a Member of IEEE, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society (SMC), IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) and IFAC. I'm member of IEEE Technical Committees (TC) on Bio Robotics, Soft Robotics, Robot Learning, and Safety, Security and Rescue Robotics. I've published over 100 journal and conference papers. I serve as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access and PeerJ Computer Science. I received the Global Peer Review Awards from Web of Science in 2019, and the Outstanding Contribution Awards from Elsevier in 2017. I was selected as regular Fundings/Grants reviewer for EPSRC, NIHR and NSFC. I have great experience in securing and involving in research projects and grants, including EPSRC, Innovate UK, Horizon 2020, Erasmus Mundus, FP7-PEOPLE, HEIF, NHS I4I, NSFC, etc. I also serve as a regular reviewer for about 30 mainstream journals and 8 flagship conferences across the domains of Robotics, artificial intelligence, and Control.

Prof.&SMIEEE, Victor Hugo C. de Albuquerque

Bio of the presenter: Victor Hugo C. de Albuquerque (Senior Member of IEEE) is currently a Professor and Senior Researcher at the Department of Teleinformatics Engineering (DETI)/Graduate Program in Teleinformatics Engineering (PPGETI) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Brazil. He earned a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB, 2010), a MSc in Teleinformatics Engineering from the PPGETI/UFC (UFC, 2007). He completed a BSE in Mechatronics Engineering at the Federal Center of Technological Education of Ceará (CEFETCE, 2006). He has experience in Biomedical Science and Engineering, mainly in the research fields of: Applied Computing, Intelligent Systems, Visualization and Interaction, with specific interest in Pattern Recognition, Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing and Analysis, as well as Automation with respect to biological signal/image processing, biomedical circuits and human/brain-machine interaction, including Augmented and Virtual Reality Simulation Modeling for animals and humans. Prof. Victor is a full Member of the Brazilian Society of Biomedical Engineering (SBEB). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Biomedical and Biological Sciences, and, also, of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Systems, and Journal of Biological Sciences, as well as Associate Editor of the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics; Computers in Biology and Medicine; Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine; Computational Physiology and Medicine; Applied Soft Computing; IEEE Access, Frontiers in Communications and Networks, Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience, Measurement, IET Quantum Communication, and he has been Lead Guest Editor of several high-reputed journals, and TPC member of many international conferences.

Prof.&SMIEEE, Pierluigi Siano

University of Salerno, Italy

Bio of the presenter: Dr. Siano is a Professor and Scientific Director of the Smart Grids and Smart Cities Laboratory with the Department of Management & Innovation Systems, University of Salerno. Since 2021 he has been a Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Science, University of Johannesburg. His research activities are centered on demand response, energy management, the integration of distributed energy resources in smart grids, electricity markets, and planning and management of power systems. In these research fields, he has co-authored more than 680 articles including more than 410 international journals that received in Scopus more than 15530 citations with an H-index equal to 61. In 2019, 2020, and 2021 he has been awarded as a Highly Cited Researcher in Engineering by Web of Science Group. He has been the Chair of the IES TC on Smart Grids. He is Editor for the Power & Energy Society Section of IEEE Access, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER SYSTEMS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS, IEEE SYSTEMS.
